Archers I Was Here, I Can Prove It coverFew bands ever purposefully wait for over a decade before releasing their debut album. But then few bands are quite like Archers. The trio — Nathanael Pulley (vocals), Ben Koehler (guitars), and Grayson Mesarosh (bass) — began life in the midwest obscurity of Madison, Wisconsin with little more than a vision and a dream, grinding tooth and nail to establish themselves today as one of alternative rock’s most buzzed about bands.

It is through the experiences collected along the journey that their first full-length release, “I Was Here, I Can Prove It” is defined.

The album arrives on February 26th, 2027, via Fearless Records.

Today, the band shares the video for new single “Burning Low”. Watch it below.

“Burning Low” is, well, straight fire. It’s a riff fest that’s capped off by Pulley’s soulful and emotive vocals. The lyrics reference the band’s last decade of living on the road, winning over one fan and one city at a time and the music is indicative of a band that has earned its stripes and paid it dues while polishing its craft. Right now is Archers’ time and “Burning Low” hits all of the high notes, with crisp and punchy riffs and more hooks than a coat closet.

“‘Burning Low’ is about the struggle of burning the candle from both ends and asks the question what happens when the ends finally meet”, the band states.

As for the album as a whole, Archers state: “‘I Was Here, I Can Prove It’ is a culmination of all the thoughts and feelings we’ve experienced over the last decade of touring. This is everything we’ve been wanting to say for so long. The long days living on the road, being away from home and the constant self-doubt that make you question if it was all worth it. Ultimately realizing that we wouldn’t trade this life for the world. This record serves to be our flag in the sand that announces to the world that we existed and that we were here and that we gave it our all in the time we have”.

Dealing in themes of dreams and desires, and of perseverance and fortitude – but of loneliness and hopelessness, too – the album tells a story of striving to do something with your life, and leave your mark on the world long after you’ve gone. Capturing the intense creativity that has come to define the Archers sound – juggernaut riffing, Richter-scale-registering breakdowns, skyscraper melodies and skittish electronics – it’s a record, as Pulley says, that “is for everyone who’s ever felt stuck, anyone who has ever felt lost, anyone who has ever felt that there hasn’t been meaning to their life”.
