Four Seconds Ago 1000 Needles coverFour Seconds Ago, the electronic duo featuring Periphery’s Jake Bowen and Misha Mansoor, return with “1000 Needles”, out on February 21st, 2025, via 3DOT Recordings, a continued exploration of analog synths, spacey dynamics and otherworldly ambient melodies.

“Four Seconds Ago, aside from being a fulfilling outlet creatively, is also just a lot of fun”, Mansoor shares. “Jake and I have always had a blast writing together, and our explorations in electronic music are no exception. The sessions often feel like a good hang where songs magically materialize before our very eyes. To some degree we started Four Seconds Ago as an excuse to learn how to make this kind of music. Now I think we are able to use it as a genuine form of expression. We are very proud of this album, and we really hope you enjoy it”.

A preview of the album is available now with today’s release of a two-song digital single featuring “Bump the Lamp” and “Muse” (listen here).

“When we started ‘Bump the Lamp’, we got momentum”, Bowen explains. “Every album needs a song to set the pace, determine the vibe, and kickstart the writing, ‘Bump The Lamp’ was this song for us”.

Album pre-orders, which include limited-edition vinyl and a “1000 Needles” t-shirt, are available now here.

Tracklist:
1. Simulator Simulator
2. Bump the Lamp
3. Muse
4. Trailbraking
5. Please The Fif
6. Empty
7. Quiet
8. Inland Empire
9. Straight for My Ape

Four Seconds Ago, the electronic project of longtime friends and Periphery co-founders Misha Mansoor and Jake Bowen, blends analog synths, dreamy downtempo beat-craft with ambient-spacey dynamics into a distinct creative expression rooted in their two-decade friendship. PopMatters said the pair’s 2018 debut album, “The Vacancy”, “glitches and synth lines that swirl into a constellation of beats and melodies… exploring the immense scope of colors and textures chill/ambient music offers”, while Sputnik Music said the 10-song collection is “proof-positive of the compositional nous of the brain trust of Periphery”.

The duo continues to explore new sonic territory with their second full-length album, “1000 Needles” [3DOT Recordings]. Drawing inspiration from artists like deadmau5 and Telefon Tel Aviv, they craft immersive, evolving compositions while maintaining the inventive spirit of their metal roots. “1000 Needles” reflects both their growth as musicians and their deep creative bond, making it a powerful continuation of their artistic journey.
