It’s time for Journey to say goodbye.
On Friday, Nov. 7, the legendary rock band announced they’ll embark on the massive Final Frontier Tour across North America in 2026, describing the run as a “heartfelt goodbye to the fans who’ve been with us”.
Kicking off on Feb. 28 in Hershey, Pa., the “Don’t Stop Believin’” band will play 60 shows throughout the United States and Canada on the tour, which wraps on July 2 in Laredo, Texas.
The tour will feature founder and guitarist Neal Schon, keyboardist and backing vocalist Jonathan Cain, lead vocalist Arnel Pineda, keyboardist and vocalist Jason Derlatka, drummer and vocalist Deen Castronovo and bassist Todd Jensen.
“This tour is our heartfelt thank you to the fans who’ve been with us every step of the way — through every song, every era, every high and low”, said Schon, 71, in a statement. “We’re pulling out all the stops with a brand-new production — the hits, the deep cuts, the energy, the spectacle. It’s a full-circle celebration of the music that’s brought us all together”.
Schon continued, “As its founding member, I carry the Journey torch to this day, wherever I go. The sentiment and spirit of the band will always remain”.
“While this marks a farewell to one powerful chapter of the Journey we’ve shared, I want everyone to know I’m not done. Music is still burning strong inside me, and there are new creative horizons ahead. This tour is both a thank you and the beginning of what’s next”, concluded his statement.
Cain, 75, shared in a statement, “It’s been an incredible ride”.
“We’ve shared our music with millions and this tour is about gratitude, connection and one last chance to feel that magic together”, added Cain. “We wouldn’t want it any other way”.
Pineda, 58, said in a statement, “I’m honored to be part of this legacy and I’m grateful for having been welcomed with such open arms. Every night on stage has been a dream come true”.
Tickets will first become available through a Citi presale on Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. local time. The general are on-sale along with the VIP packages here.
According to a press release, the tour will feature a setlist including the band’s hits “Don’t Stop Believin’”, “Any Way You Want It”, “Faithfully”, “Lights” and more.
The tour announcement comes less than a month after Schon claimed in a social media post that Cain “announced his farewell”. Not long after he made the claim, a spokesperson for Cain told PEOPLE that he “remains an active member” and “is fully dedicated to touring with the band over the next couple of years”.
Schon later replied to the post and clarified, “Jon is playing. He’s saying at the end of 26-27 he will move on. We will have a great couple of years”.
