With a unique fusion of power, thrash, and traditional heavy metal, Ottawa, Canada’s Lycanthro unleash their highly anticipated second studio album “Remnants of Rapture” on May 23rd, 2025, via US-based label Psychomanteum Records.
Delivering an epic soundscape that’s as bold as it is unforgettable, ushering in a new era for the band, Lycanthro’s 11-track metal attack builds on their critically acclaimed 2021 debut album “Mark of the Wolf”, which showcased powerful storytelling, dynamic arrangements, and even collaborations with a chamber choir.
Lycanthro has hunted on stages such as ‘Power Metal Quest Fest’ in the UK, ‘Legions of Metal’ in Chicago, and is fast inviting a worldwide audience to join the pack. The band draws inspiration from the likes of Savatage, W.A.S.P., Blind Guardian, and more. Proudly hunting in the world of true metal, the lyrical and musical imagery of Lycanthro calls out to the realms of classic horror, pop culture, and mythology in a journey through tales of personal struggle and howling victory.
Featuring guest performances from Laura Guldemond (Burning Witches) and Stu Block (Into Eternity, ex-Iced Earth), “Remnants of Rapture” is a statement of purpose for Lycanthro, marking their territory as a force to be reckoned with. Shredding guitars, memorable hooks, and soaring vocals highlight an album which will firmly put Lycanthro out there on the metal map for everyone to recognize. With every note, Lycanthro proves that the howl never dies, the hunt never ends, and the night is never quiet. IN METAL WE TRUST!
The first single “Iris” is a bombastic statement of purpose with rich vocals and triumphant riffs taking centre stage. As the opening track of “Remnants of Rapture” it sets the tone for the new album as a take-no-prisoners power metal anthem. The accompanying video reflects the fire and grandeur of the song, as the band is placed in the middle of a post-apocalyptic scene of destruction.
