Anticipation reaches a fever pitch as Danish metal veterans Mercenary unveil “Heart of the Numb”, their new single from their new studio album, “Soundtrack for the End Times”. The single, which features the impressive vocals of Matt Heafy from the American metal powerhouse Trivium, signals an impressive evolution in the band’s characteristic sound.
“Soundtrack for the End Times” is set for release on September 22nd, 2023, through NoiseArt Records. Ahead of this, fans can sample the raw energy of “Heart of the Numb” below.
Mercenary is thrilled to welcome Matt Heafy from Trivium, one of their biggest supporters, as a guest vocalist on “Heart of the Numb”. In his words: “Mercenary for years has been ahead of the game, crafting its own special blend of metal. When I hear Mercenary – I hear Denmark. I hear metal. You all must listen to this band”.
Guitarist Jakob Mølbjerg, full of enthusiasm, shares his thoughts on the upcoming album. “This monster of an album is our darkest and heaviest effort yet”, he said. “It brings a fresh take on all the trademark elements of Mercenary’s sound: huge, soaring choruses, bone-crushing riffs, punishing drums, and stellar leads, all wrapped in a powerful production from our very own Master-of-all-trades, Mr. Martin Buus, and a crushing world-class mix from Jacob Hansen”.
The album’s striking cover artwork was crafted by Niklas Sundin, who previously designed the legendary covers for “11 Dreams” and “Architect of Lies”.
