Art Of Melody Music & Burning Minds Music Group are glad to announce all the details of “Crowded Silence”, the fourth studio album by Danish West Coast master, Michael Kratz.
Michael Kratz has always believed that great songs outlive musical trends. Throughout a career spanning more than four decades, that belief has shaped everything from his years as a professional drummer to his work today as a singer, songwriter and recording artist.
For more than twenty years, Kratz built his reputation behind the drum kit, touring with some of Denmark’s most successful artists and contributing to recordings that have collectively sold more than one million albums. While he still enjoys playing drums on selected studio sessions and occasional live performances, 2012 marked a new chapter with the release of his debut solo album, “Cross That Line”. Since then, he has released “Live Your Life” (2018), the live album “Live Your Live” (2018) and “TAFKATNO” (2021).
“Crowded Silence” is his fourth studio album and continues a musical journey driven by craftsmanship, curiosity and an unwavering passion for songwriting. Inspired by the golden era of American West Coast music of the late 1970s and beyond – exemplified by artists such as Toto and The Doobie Brothers – as well as the melodic sophistication of British New Wave acts like Duran Duran; Kratz has developed a musical identity that is distinctly his own. Rather than chasing genres or trends, he writes songs that combine memorable melodies, strong musicianship and emotional honesty.
Throughout his solo career, Kratz has collaborated with internationally acclaimed musicians including Steve Lukather, Michael Landau, David Garfield and Duran Duran guitarist Dom Brown. In close partnership with Kasper Skadhede Viinberg, with whom he has worked for many years, he stays deeply involved in every stage of the creative process, from songwriting and arrangements to shaping the final recordings. Away from the studio, Michael Kratz remains a highly active live musician, performing between 60 and 80 concerts every year.
Mixed by Kasper Skadhede Viinberg and mastered by Morten Maltesen, “Crowded Silence” is set for release on January 22nd, 2027. CD graphics have been designed by Aeglos Art (Wheels Of Fire, Backlash, Raintimes, Room Experience), with a booklet featuring introductory liner notes written by Eric Berger (RockMeeting.com). The first single, “Flip The Coin”, with an official video, will drop on October 15, 2026.
