Periphery US Tour 2023 posterPeriphery, who recently announced the first pair of headlining dates in support of their album, “Periphery V: Djent Is Not a Genre” (Nov. 4 at House of Blues in Anaheim, Calif. and Nov. 18 at The Palladium in Worcester, Mass), have expanded the outing, adding several performances and dubbing the trek “The Wildfire Tour”.

“This tour represents something we’ve wanted to do for a while now… play multiple shows in more intimate rooms, and offer up different sets”, explains Mark Holcomb. “We’ve always been vocal about making art for ourselves, but these exclusive shows are something catered to our most devoted fans. Whether you just started following us with P5 or have been with us since the early days, we hope you can make it out to one of the shows. It’s gonna be a blast”!

While the initially announced dates for Anaheim and Worcester include Plini, Archspire, Thomas Giles, Thank You Scientists, and Mike Dawes, the newly announced performances will only include Mike Dawes, allowing Periphery to have extra time for their expanded set. Tickets for the additional shows are on-sale this Friday, July 14, at 10 am local time.

Periphery released “Periphery V: Djent is Not a Genre” in March. Metal Hammer said the 9-song album proves “why they’re miles ahead of their peers”, going on to say “Periphery continue to push boundaries”. Guitar World described the self-produced collection is “their most wildly ambitious record yet”, and Metal Injection described the band as “torchbearers for the genre”.

Periphery is Jake Bowen (guitar), Matt Halpern (drums), Mark Holcomb (guitar), Misha Mansoor (guitar), and Spencer Sotelo (vocals). The D.C.-born band have released six albums since 2010: “Periphery” (2010), “Periphery II: This Time It’s Personal” (2012), the two part Juggernaut: “Alpha and Juggernaut: Omega” (2015), “Periphery III: Select Difficultyv (2016), “Periphery IV: Hail Stan” (2019) and “Periphery V: Djent is Not a Genre” (2023). Over their career they have received two GRAMMY-Award nominations and have graced the covers of several magazines, including Guitar World, Revolver, Modern Drummer, and Bass Player. The band continues to explore avenues outside of their core work with Periphery, both with numerous side projects (Bulb, Haunted Shores, Four Seconds Ago, King Mothership, etc.), partnerships with various instrument companies, the creation of GetGood Drums (software libraries featuring drum and guitar packs), and an in-person camping experience with clinics (Periphery Summer Jam).
