Saturnalia Temple Paradigm Call coverIn their 17 years of existence, Saturnalia Temple have created their own niche of occult doom metal with their unique brand of psychedelia.

Constantly challenging their musical progression from the revolutionary and hypnotizing “Aion of Drakon” (2011), which one track was chosen by Fenriz (Darkthrone), as one of the only 7 tracks for his 40th birthday mix tape for Vice Magazine – to the unique Bluesy Black Doom Metal of “To the Other” (2015), which won them a Swedish Manifest Award. 2019’s “Gravity” drew roaring press, Metal Archives reviewed: “Chilling, spectral magnificence in the form of delightfully unhinged, hauntingly atmospheric and viciously groove doom metal. In consensus, an obliterating hammer of pure occult musical might”.

During 2022 – 2023 band leader Tommie Eriksson built a new studio, which is called T.O.N / Temple of Naamah Studios. The writing, recording and production of the new studio album “Paradigm Call” was completed in Fall 2023. The album title echoes the calling in of the new paradigm of the “Aion of Drakon”, prophesied already in 2011. “Paradigm Call” is the most focused and hard hitting so far and heavier than ever.

Band leader Tommie Ericksson comments on new album “Paradigm Call”:
“The opening track ‘Drakon’ is a hypnotic invocation that sets the mood perfectly for the relentless riff of ‘Revel in Dissidence’ that follows, taking the doom into early 90s deathlike vibrations. ‘Paradigm Call’ track keeps the charismatic black hole open and calls the listener deep into the centre of the other side.

‘Among the Ruins’ is probably the catchiest track ever in the history of the band and features Paul Delaney from Black Anvil on guest vocals.

‘Black Smoke’ is another one riff epic that shows that Saturnalia Temple is one of the deadliest and most riveting when it comes smashing both your speakers and your mind.

‘Ascending the Pale’ is a poignant description of magical initiation that ventures into black metal territory with its harsh metal craft, born from Tubal Cain’s iron in the bowels of the earth.

‘Empty Chalice’ follows this cold and unabating hammering of supernatural steel until your consciousness is truly levitated.

Finishing off the album is an instrumental ‘Kaivalya’, which is the most hypnotic piece Saturnalia Temple have ever released. That track brings back the warmth again, albeit a midnight sun that leads you through the tundra beyondtime and into a parallel universe where the 70s never ended and the cosmos is born from wah and fuzzguitars”.

“Paradigm Call” will be released on March 1st, 2024, via Listenable Records. The album was mastered by Jérémie Bezier at Blackout Studio, Brussels. The new live line up includes brothers Gottfrid Åhman (In Solitude, Pågå) on bass and Pelle Åhman (In Solitude Pågå) on drums.
