Venom has announced that their new studio album, “Into Oblivion”, will be released on May 1st, 2026, via Noise/BMG.
The album has been in the works for years, but a number of factors delayed its completion: the pandemic, recording setbacks, and the desire to achieve perfection. However, as Cronos said: “This album has really pushed the boundaries. If you want to make a killer album, you pay for it in blood, sweat, and tears”.
“Into Oblivion” is Venom’s sixteenth studio album and features the long-standing line up of Cronos (bass & vocals and founding member), Rage (guitars) and Dante (drums) and marks their first new recordings since 2018’s, “Storm The Gates” record.

Founder Cronos says of the first single “Lay Down Your Soul”: “I think it’s healthy to recognise things from back in the day and bring them into a new setting that gives it a whole fresh approach. The fans are going to go mental for it”.
Guitarist Rage says: “I’m so proud of this album, it’s astounding! It feels so different, yet so familiar. The sonics are a step up, no song sounds the same, but they all work together”.
“Into Oblivion” consists of thirteen songs that are signature Venom; heavy, evil and catchy. There’s a combination of their classic 80’s sound adjacent to a more modern progressive approach but without losing any of their fire and brimstone of old.

Venom was formed in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1979. They rose to prominence towards the end of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Their first two albums – “Welcome to Hell” (1981) and “Black Metal” (1982) – are considered seminal works of thrash metal and extreme metal in general. The second album was so influential that its title was used as the name for the extreme metal subgenre black metal. Often cited as important influences by bands such as Metallica, Behemoth, Celtic Frost, and Mayhem, they are among the most revered bands of their generation.
