“III: Weightless” is the third album by the Swedish band Creye, following their previous releases “Creye” (2018) and “II” (2021). Creye has worked hard over the years to make a name for themselves, and with each new release, they take another step forward.
They blend AOR with melodic rock and pop-rock on their new album. This time, the guys have chosen a more modern and pop-oriented approach to their songs. Some people may like it more than others, but that’s the way it is. The production is clear and rich, despite the fact that it is not very dynamic, which is probably due to the softer sound.
Songs like “Glorious”, “Air” (a pop-rock hit), “One Step Away”, “The Game” (catchy melodic pop-rock anthem), “Spreading Fire” (AOR/Melodic Rock gem), “In the Shadows”, “Stay” (wonderful emotive song) and “Dangerous” are more likely to please the band’s fans, while also attracting new ones.
“III: Weightless” is full of nice melodies, memorable hooks, and tight arrangements. The band’s musicianship and songwriting skills are on full display here, resulting on an album that is remarkable and engaging. Creye is steadily gaining more recognition with every new release.
