Iconic is a new supergroup made up of some highly talented rock musicians: Michael Sweet, the vocalist and guitarist of Stryper, Joel Hoekstra, a classically trained and iconic guitar player from Whitesnake & The Dead Daisies, Marco Mendoza, the bassist of Thin Lizzy, Black Star Riders & The Dead Daisies, among others), Tommy Aldridge, currently of Whitesnake, ex- Ozzy Osbourne, Ted Nugent and more, Nathan James, the front man of Inglorious and multi-instrumentalist and producer Alessandro Del Vecchio.
Their debut album, “Second Skin”, features a blend of bluesy hard rock reminiscent of Whitesnake, with excellent vocals and guitar work. The final result is enhanced by Tommy Aldridge’s drumming. The production, by Michael Sweet along with Alessandro Del Vecchio, with executive producer credit going to Serafino Perugino, is tight and full.
Ultimately, “Second Skin” is an essential album for any hard rock fan, bringing back the nostalgia of the late 80s and early 90s with a contemporary twist. Fans of Whitesnake’s golden era will be delighted with this release.
