“Transition Animals” is the new release by the trio Kings And Liars, which consists of Charlie Bellmore on vocals & guitars, Nick Bellmeore on drums & vocals and Christopher Taylor Beaudette on bass & vocals. The Bellmore Brothers are part of the Dee Snider Band and Kingdom of Sorrow among others, and Beaudette plays with Entierro and Nightbitch inter alia.
Even though Kings And Liars have revealed their musical identity with several previous releases, the new album showcases what this band is all about… and it’s all about heavy riffs and nice melodies. Having influences from Stone Sour, Five Finger Death Punch, Altered Bridge, Soundgarden, Black Sabbath (no Ozzy era), Metallica (modern era) and stuff, they know how to balance properly between heaviness and melody. Their sound is heavy and modern, and the production is beefy and powerful. The album was mixed and produced by the drummer Nick Bellmeore.
The album features a rather interesting cover on REM’s hit “The One I Love”, which is done by the band’s own distinct style, and it closes with “Never Take Your Crown”, a wonderful, psychedelic and atmospheric track that will take by surprise many fans on the whole. A great way to end an album and offer a mental and soul tranquility to the listener. “Transition Animals” will give the chance to those who fancy the above-mentioned bands to discover Kings And Liars and dive into their music. You’d better give this album a spin if modern heavy melodic stuff is your thing.
