Two years after their debut release, the Swedish band Remedy is back with a new studio work titled “Pleasure Beats the Pain”. Even though their debut was really good, I didn’t expect their sophomore album to be so great in every way. The guys deliver the goods like veterans.
Musically, they blend AOR, melodic rock, and hard rock music from the 80s, 90s, and 00s wonderfully. Their songwriting is really strong, and it’s amazing to see how much the guys are evolving with each new release.
The production is absolutely amazing! It’s modern, dynamic, and full. No wonder, since the album was mixed and mastered by the famed musician and producer Erik Martensson (Eclipse) at Mass Destruction Production, and produced by guitarist Roland Forsman.
When it comes to the music, the band really did their best, as most of the songs have amazing melodies, great harmonies, and catchy choruses. The musicianship is simply excellent, with each member contributing their own piece to make Remedy run like a well-oiled rock machine.
“Crying Heart”, “Moon Has the Night”, and “Hearts on Fire” are the album’s big hits! Other notable tracks include “Sin for Me”, “Angelina”, “Bad Blood”, “Caught by Death”, “Poison”, and the acoustic ballad “Something They Call Love”.
“Pleasure Beats the Pain” is the album that will put Remedy on the map with the top new melodic rock & hard rock bands; it’s as simple as that. This album will certainly open new doors for the band. This is only the beginning for Remedy; the sky is the limit, and it is up to them whether they will succeed! If you’re a devoted fan of AOR, melodic rock, and hard rock, you definitely won’t want to miss “Pleasure Beats the Pain”, as it’s one of the most exciting albums of 2024!
