Act 2 by Steel Panther… the one and only super sexy, sleaze, glam, rockin’ band in the world. “Feel the Steel” is unique and unsurpassed… the best album of its league… Steel Panther are one league themselves after all. “Balls Out” starts from where they left with the debut album… sexy, porn, offensive – parental advisory totally needed – lyrics, and hard rockin’ music that was made in the mid/late 80s from bands like Poison, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Aerosmith, Def Leppard and so on… you will absolutely enjoy the new sleaze hard rock tracks like: “Supersonic Sex Machine”, “Just Like Tiger Woods”, “17 Girls in a Row”, “It Won’t Suck Itself” (featuring Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger), “Tomorrow Night”, “That’s what Girls Are For” (Leppard-like song), “Gold-Digging Whore” (the best rocker of the album – excellent lyrical concept), “I Like Drugs”, “Critter” and “Let Me Cum In”… and the sensational lovin’ ballads like: “If You Really, Really Love Me” (it’s true if you really love someone then… just follow the lyrics), “Why Can’t You Trust Me” (again the guys are utterly right… trust means a lot) and my beloved “Weenie Ride”, the most “emotional” ballad Steel Panther have ever written… the lyrics are just hilarious.
The whole album is wonderful and you can easily listen to it again and again but it just cannot “touch” the debut album. I mean we were all waiting for that album for several years, we had only a little clue of what’s going on and “Feel the Steel” indeed blew us away… melt our brains and made us laugh like crazy. Now we are totally aware of what’s coming to us… the gap between those two releases was small. I, personally, still listen to the songs from the debut, it’s just like these were some kind of b-sides or hidden songs very enjoyable and hilarious though… the very same style of the debut.
The production is very polished and heavy… great again. Every little detail is taken care of again… the cover is one of the sexiest covers I have seen, and that circle-like effect on the image that’s makes it look like a vinyl… awaking memories from the late 80s-early 90s. Superb!
If you love the debut album then you have no excuse to miss this one. If you felt offended from the band’s songs at any point… then stay away from it. This time they are dealing more with “@sses” than before… amusing… terrific… can’t get enough of it!
