The wait is finally over, the most important Heavy Metal opera in the spanish language, Legado de una Tragedia, is back like you’ve never heard it before, and with luxurious collaborations, in a new project that will be released on March 10th 2023.
Legado de una Tragedia by Joaquín Padilla brings us “Aquelarre de Sombras”, an exquisite operatic Heavy Metal opus, elaborated with meticulous sound details, in addition to having collaborations by some of the greatest artists in the national Metal scene.
This is Joaquín Padilla’s darkest and most ambitious work to date. The cover design has been created by the acclaimed Gustavo Sazes (Epica, Kamelot, Machine Head, Avalanch…).
Joaquín Padilla describes the representation of the artwork in his own words:
“This artwork represents the demon that we all harbor inside. The monsters that we create, the sorcerers, the monstrosities, the most aberrant creatures… they are mere representations of the evil that we have within us. A mirror to humanity’s bestiality. A metaphor for what the black paintings represent”.
The Madrid-based artist also explains the new sound of the work as follows:
“It’s the hardest, darkest record I’ve ever written. Keeping the hallmarks of my operas, the melodies, the epic orchestrations, the majestic choirs, but with a more extreme sound. The most guitar-driven, most phantasmagorical, darkest album… connecting with Goya’s black paintings’ deepest meaning”.
“Aquelarre de Sombras” has been produced by Joaquin Padilla, recorded in his own studios; “Estudios Espartanos de Madrid”, mixed and mastered by Raúl Abellán at The Mixtery.
