Meshuggah European & UK Tour 2027 posterMany bands dream of having a successful career that spans four decades, but few bands actually reach that kind of milestone. Many bands aren’t Meshuggah.

Ever since their inception in Umeå in 1987, the extreme metal pioneers have carved an illustrious career path brimming with innovation, aggression, defiance and impact, cementing them as one of the most important and influential bands the genre has ever produced.

The boundary pushing icons will reach their 40th anniversary in 2027; an occasion that calls for commemoration.

The band are proud to announce part of that ceremony in the form of “The Forty-Year Anomaly”, a huge European & UK headline tour in Fall 2027 that takes them to some of the biggest stages they have ever performed on.

Across twenty dates, Meshuggah will take their mind-bending sonic onslaught to venues all over the continent, ending with a performance at London’s revered OVO Arena Wembley.

Support comes from special guests Periphery and Vildhjarta.

Tickets go on-sale as follows:

Few bands have altered the vocabulary of heavy music as fundamentally as Meshuggah. For nearly four decades, the Swedish quintet have built one of the most distinctive bodies of work in modern metal, combining rhythmic complexity, dissonance, repetition and crushing physicality into a sound that has influenced generations of musicians.

Meshuggah began with thrash-metal foundations before rapidly pushing into far stranger territory. Albums including “Destroy Erase Improve”, “Chaosphere” and “Nothingestablished” the ideas that would come to define them: polymetric riffs, displaced accents, extended-range guitars and an ability to make extreme technical complexity feel overwhelmingly visceral.

That evolution continued through the sprawling “Catch Thirtythree”, the precision and aggression of “obZen”, the immense weight of “Koloss” and the volatile immediacy of “The Violent Sleep of Reason”. Songs such as “Future Breed Machine”, “Rational Gaze”, “Bleed” and “Demiurge” became landmarks in the band’s catalogue, while their approach to rhythm helped shape entire generations of progressive and technical metal. A testament to their lasting impact, Meshuggah received a GRAMMY nomination for Best Metal Performance for “Clockworks”.

Their ninth studio album, “Immutable”, arrived in 2022, reaffirming their singular place in modern metal. The album topped the U.K. Rock & Metal Albums chart and reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums chart, while also reaching the Top 10 in Germany, Canada and Sweden. The subsequent touring cycle reinforced another central part of their legacy: a live show where immense sound and precisely synchronized lighting transform complex compositions into a physical sensory experience.

Nearly four decades into their career, Meshuggah remain one of the rare bands whose influence is matched by their continued relevance. They have never simply stayed ahead of their time; they created a musical language that much of heavy music is still learning to speak.
