French prog rock band Nine Skies release the first single, “The Explorer” (featuring Riccardo Romano on vocals), from their forthcoming album and launched preorders via a crowdfunding campaign.

Also, “Orchestra Scoring” will record strings on the album at the Mosfilm Studio, one of Russia’s most prestigious film establishments (where Monserrat Caballe, Michel Legrand, or Vangelis have recorded).
Moreover, Johnny Marter is the new drummer of the band. Johnny began playing drums at the age of ten. Later, forays into the Pop and Rock world would find him success with Mr. Big, Voyager, Alaska, and MGM. Now with the SAS All Star Band, for some eighteen years, he continues to play regularly with a host of great artists of diverse genres, from Roger Taylor and Brian May of Queen, Glenn Hughes, Jack Bruce, and Roger Daltry, to Jon Anderson, Annie Lennox, and Peter Gabriel, to Aretha Franklin, Gloria Gaynor, and Corinne Baily Rae to name but a few.
The new studio album “The Lightmaker” is due to be released in September 2023. So far, Marco Minnemann and Riccardo Romano have been announced as guests on the album. If you follow the band, you are used to their way to announce guests and news during the recording process and we can imagine more various announcements will follow.
Riccardo Marco worked with Steven Wilson, The Aristocrats, The Mute Gods, Tony Levin and Jordan Rudess, Joe Satriani, Randy McStine, and so many others, we no longer present one of the most talented drummers and multi-instrumentalists.
