Temperance, Alia Tempora and Control The Storm live in London 2022

Tuesday is the perfect night to go attend a live show; as it’s the beginning of the week is not too busy, so that you have the chance to enjoy fully every artist performing! This time, I’m in Camden at the nonetheless famous Underworld. I haven’t been here in a while, but it’s always so good to be back!

Tonight’s show is part of the International Women of Rock Unity Tour. Global Unity Tour and DC Sound Attack have joined forces for the “International Women of Rock Unity Tour”, which hits the UK from mid/end March up till the 4th April. For the night we have the pleasure to see performing: Temperance, Alia Tempora and Control The Storm.

As soon as I get inside, I have the pleasure to interview Marco Pastorino (guitar and vocals) of Temperance, and you will be able to read the interview here. Marco is a really nice guy and he tried to make me feel comfortable, as soon as I met him. It is very interesting to discover more about the band. Also, let’s not forget that we are coming from the same country (Italy), so we had a lot of laughs during this interview! After the interview, I made my way into the main room and luckily, I’m still able to find a tiny spot in front of the stage ready for the night to start.

First on stage we have Control The Storm from UK, who later in the year will perform on the second stage at Download festival, pretty big deal! In addition to that, they also started working on their 3rd studio album hoping to release it by the end of the year. The band’s future looks definitely very bright!

They bring an explosive stage presence and always delivers a powerful and energetic performance that can only be matched by the music itself. Singer Firouzeh has an incredible voice that goes so well with their signature electrifying sound.

They have emerged from the chaos of 2020 into a new era with a new stage production, new music and the determination to unite and bring fans on this exhilarating journey. And just at the beginning of 2021, they decided to release a new single, “Desire”. This has been the band’s most popular release to date, streamed in over 600 radio stations and ten of thousands of online streams within the first month.

Control the Storm have spent recent years forging their name in the UK music with dedication and craft. Their latest album “Forevermore” is an optimistic and uplifting record, full of enticing vocals harmonies, complex orchestration and powerful guitar riffs. What a great way to start with a bang!

Next up we have Alia Tempora from Czech Republic, a modern metal band with a strong influence of pop, dance and dubstep music. The band is characterized by its emphasis on modern prismatic image, catchy music and captivating show. The peculiar origin of the band’s name derives from Latin and means “Other Times”.

The strong personality of singer Markie Moravkova is incredible, so captivating! As soon as she hits the stage with her LCD mike and stand in a riot of colorful hair and metallic outfits to take over the vocals and the whole stage. She is such a likable and charismatic character, and the crowd is in ecstasy. I see superstar material in her!

The band music and energy are so catchy, that you will find yourself dancing during the whole set! You really can’t stay still; you have to move. Even if they are used to play on bigger stage at home, a smaller venue like this one allows Markie to connect warmly with everyone in the room. You can even see her smiling at the “OG” fans that are in the front row. They are such a fun band to watch!

And now, it’s the moment for Italy’s finest Temperance. Founded in 2013 by musicians who have more than 10 years of experience in the Heavy Metal music scene, Temperance blends exceptional vocal melodies with energetic Metal guitar riffing and symphonic atmospheres. In 2018, Alessia Scoletti officially joined the band after being touring with them for a while.

After releasing their vibrant fifth studio album, “Veridian”, in 2020, they came back just a year later in 2021 with “Diamanti”. With “Diamanti” they showed out once more their extraordinary ability to merge brilliant vocal melodies, incredible power metal guitar riffing, and symphonic soundscapes in perfect harmony.

Different from most Symphonic Metal band, Temperance brings together a unique vocal triad, all adding their own style and flavor to the ensemble. The combination of Alessia Scolletti’s crystalline voice, the strong timbre of Michele (Meek) Guaitoli and the rough vocals of guitarist Marco Pastorino, make the band stand out completely. With millions of YouTube views, they manage to unite heaviness with an impressive level of catchy melodies that will make you want to listen to them over and over again!

More people are getting into the room, and they are all jumping, head-banging and absolutely loving every second of the performance. Temperance are stunning, aggressive and delicate, all at once! Alessia is outstanding and her performance is coming across both as a cosmic force of nature and femininity. Her voice effortlessly moves between airy brush strokes and heavenly high energy while every now and again she glances over to Marco and Meek. The three work so well together and the mix of their voices gives light to something phenomenal. Those guys are true artists!

What a night! As always, I will suggest you try and catch all of those bands live, as I’m sure you are in for a treat!
